ANOTHER ROUND
This one was written with my brother. It's for people who fall for people who love drama.
***
“Another Round” is a languorous guitarsy track that celebrates going another round with a trouble maker: “Everyone knows what you’re after, chasing storms wherever you go / You say I’m a disaster / a category hurricane 4.” The challenge is comical: “You can’t predict I’ll run a straight line / only touching down in the end.” The mock-heroic, “We’re both gonna do what we’re meant to do / I’ll go another round with you,” is sung almost in surrender as much as a bold self-actualizing invitation to duel. True to Vopnford’s style of casting human feats and defeats so skillfully in words set to a soundtrack, he uses a percussive march that amps up the song leading it strong through to the end like a commanding roll call for lovers who march to the beat of a different drummer and always in charge of their destinies – come hell or high water.

ANOTHER ROUND
Everyone knows what you’re after, chasing storms wherever you go
You say I’m a disaster, a category hurricane four
Your kind of love
It’s just what I need
Hand over head
Head over feet
Tumbling down
Were both gonna do what we’re meant to do
I’ll go another round with you
You can’t predict I’ll run a straight line
Only touching down in the end
No damage is done in the heartland
I’ll come to rest but you won’t know when
If you wiling to wait, I’ll be late but be there
Willing to wait
Willing to work it out
Willing to let is pass
You know what I’m all about
Your kind of love
It’s just what I need
Hand over head
Head over feet
Tumbling down
I’ll go another round with you
